The Weight of a Question

the question 'How are you?' does not translate to 'What has been keeping you busy?'
the question 'How are you?' is in reference to how are you feeling, wether that is spiritually, emotionally, physically or mentally is up to the person to decide, unless if you make your question less general.

BUT..
be careful, do not ask 'How are you?', and not have time for a sometimes lengthy, and sometimes emotional answer. If you genuinely care, but are stuck for time, make a point to connect schedules, and really see how they are doing.

BUT..
only ask this question if you are going to share the road and not jump off the cliff when it comes to your own problems and issues, half the time, the things we see as large issues are really not great at all, and in comparison to your colleague they can be the size of an ant.

Don't get me wrong it is good to express your feelings and thoughts, but not everyone is ready or willing to take the weight of the world on their shoulders. Only give what you would be willing to carry, do not blow your problems out of proportion and as hard as it is at times STOP OVER THINKING THINGS.

not everything is about you and nothing should ever be just about you, try going to God with your issues first. So often we rely on the ears of others because we can physically see them, and push God to the back burner, forgetting it is still on and eventually allowing our relationship with God to evaporate until there is hardly if any water left to not even come close to encompassing the noodles needed to feed an army, let alone yourself.

Cry on Jesus' shoulder. He has the Whole World in His hands...imagine how big his shoulders must be !
